How the Process Works

This website is primarily for people who already have a very clear idea of what they want and can describe it clearly and in detail via e-mail.

1)  E-mail me with your idea and/or questions.  Please let me know what you will be using the cartoon for and if it is for personal or commercial use.  If the cartoon is to be used for branding or logos I will include more time in my quote for a few more revisions and the fine-tuning those applications usually take.  The more detailed your description is, the smoother the process will go.  I'll give you an estimated time for the completion of your cartoon and let you know if I need any further info.  Once I have enough information, I'll give you a price quote.  (See the Pricing page)

2)  Send payment via PayPal to customcartoonart@comcast.net

I'm afraid I have to ask for payment in advance since most of the creative work of a cartoon is in the draft.  Consequently some people have found my drafts to be all they need and failed to pay after receiving them.  For larger projects I will accept an initial deposit with balance paid after you have approved the draft artwork.  If you pay via PayPal you can feel confident you are protected from fraud.

3)  I'll e-mail you a b&w rough draft for your approval at which time you can request modifications and I'll send you a revised draft before I start the final artwork.  My quote includes minor modifications and "fine-tuning" at the draft stage.  If major or multiple revisions (beyond what was included in the original quote) are needed there may be an additional charge (this is rare).

4)  I'll ship your finished artwork in whatever file format you prefer via e-mail (or on CD-R if necessary due to file size or low-speed connection).
